This 5-track recording was made over one day [6 May 2023] as an ongoing investigation into bespoke white noise recordings. Instead of using a white noise machine to aid sleep and related needs, I prefer to make personal pilgrimages to coastlines, to make bespoke work of this nature.

This is so I can scope out soundscapes that might be a better personal fit, and that also have a series of natural pulses - and that give me the benefits of working in the environment.

These recordings were made on a Sony D100 recorder with the mics in an X-Y array and were recorded with a low-cut of 75hz to avoid a lot of rumble coming from the hard rocks which the recorder was frequently placed in. I toyed with the idea of removing this in post, and leaving the recording at full bandwidth but a few unpredictable swells could have easily overloaded it.

I hope you enjoy it, I have slept to it already.

If "Warmth - The Darkest Place" creates a small, dark, cold and private place in your mind where you can go to be alone and have time to hear your most complicated feelings, for me this album is quite the opposite.
