about

I've got a feeling that this track was for some art installation or film - it was a series of edited field recordings in the Scottish coastal town of Dunbar. The recordings were probably around 1997 or around then. I remember striking railings with a piece of driftwood. On the recording, you will hear this slowed down - I was astounded to discover how like church bells they were. The piece is divided in two parts, the field recordings are in part a and in part b I was going for a "Bagpuss Vibe" where some old mechanical wheezy gramophone has been squeezed into life but is skittery and unreliable. A little like myself.
