about

Scottish artists, commentators, practitioners and members of the public were asked to read part of artist Chris Dooks' script which turned every issue of The Drouth Magazine into a sentence in order to make this strange stream of consciousness soundwork.

The reason? In January 2015, The Drouth published it's 50th edition, which also saw the magazine display original artwork from the covers, at Glasgow School of Art for an exhibition. The exhibition served to profile the breadth of the diverse art and design to grace the publication. This download attempts to further celebrate the continued publication of the magazine (I'd call it a cultural review) and contains two special pieces of sound art accompanied by a piece of creative writing which attempts to unify each cover together in a hypothetical narrative.
